Discover the photographic potential of one object.
Requirements:
Five matted photographs of a single object.
Directions:
- Select one object and photograph it in a variety of different settings, lighting situations, and positions. A simple object might be easier to work with than a more complex one. Here are some suggestions:
- An egg
- A doll
- A flower
- A balloon
- An umbrella
- A shell
- A chair
- A piece of fruit or a vegetable
- Limit yourself to one object for the entire roll of film. Try to make each photograph different.
- As an option, feel free to take apart, cut, or break the object. Then photograph the parts that remain.
- As an option, photograph only close up sections of the object. Remember that unless you use a macro lens, you must not get any closer than three feet or your photo will not be in focus.
- You may want to use a backdrop (tablecloth, sheet, etc.) to isolate your object from any distracting background. Remember, you MUST have an excellent light source if photographing indoors! Consider hanging your backdrop outside if necessary for that light source.
*You will be graded on the level of creativity, craftsmanship, and effort that you put into this project.
