Meet The Teacher
My name is Melissa McFadden and I am one of the art teachers at Craig high school. I'm the letter "T" in our group photo on the left! I was born in Columbus, a small town east of Madison. It was there where I went to school from kindergarten until 2008 when I graduated. I've known since high school that I wanted to be an art teacher. I had extremely talented, creative, and supportive art teachers that pushed me to be the best I could be in high school. After high school I attended college nearby in Whitewater, WI. I graduated from UW Whitewater in 2012 with a bachelors degree in Art Education. I completed my student teaching experience at Deerfield Elementary school and in Janesville at Craig High School. Before joining the amazing staff at Craig, I taught the after school program at a Montessori school near my home in Illinois. I am currently living in McHenry, IL. I live with my husband Justin, my cat Spaz, and our boxer named Mojo. I explore all the art mediums, but my favorites are stained glass and photography. You can see some of my personal art on this page. I am excited to get to know my students and their parents/guardians and to inspire my students to be the best artist they can be!
